Job Purpose:
Achieve profitable
growth by identifying, biding and winning new large scale mechanical
projects. Estimation will focus on multimillion dollar projects between $3-30 million.
Primary Job Duties:

Prepares conceptual
estimates for a variety of mechanical systems, pricing, general administrative
and subcontractor cost analysis and final estimation summary (FEST)

Recommends which bids
to pursue based on a mixture of quantitative and qualitative information.

Analyzes customer
needs with the help of manager
-
Effectively partners
with company-wide team members to accurately quantify materials and labor costs
-
Works closely with
customers, architects and engineers to ensure satisfaction and provide
technical support
-
Prepares pre-design
documentation and budgeting for customers
-
Develops accurate
estimates and detailed proposals
-
Effectively presents
information and responds to questions from customers, project managers, field
superintendents and CADD professionals
-
Works collaboratively
with key internal/external partners to prepare pre-bid competitive analysis
-
Maintains a cost
database for materials, schedules and labor
-
Stays knowledgeable
of the systems being quoted
-
Continuously updates
knowledge of the most cost effective means of installation
Knowledge, Skills and Education Qualifications:
Technical Skills and Education:
-
5+ years of related
experience conceptual estimating
-
Excellent knowledge
of HVAC, plumbing and process piping, hydronics, refrigeration codes, equipment,
materials, and installation process in pre-construction, new construction, design/build,
value engineering and other services are offered by Bruner.

Understands project
plans and specifications
-
Working knowledge of
the Mechanical Code Book
-
Ability to work with
mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and
fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
-
Ability to apply
concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
situations
-
Basic understanding
of profit and loss
-
Understands and
incorporates OSHA regulations into estimates
-
Knowledge of local
market place, pricing and subcontractor community required
-
Associate or B.S.
